Sun Pumps 4" HR 12-200 DC Helical motor Submersible Solar Pumps
A helical solar submersible pump rated at 12 GPM, 200 FT head, and 70-190 VDC is a positive-displacement positive-pressure system designed to efficiently pump water from deep wells using direct solar power.
Key Specifications
Flow Rate: Maximum of 12 Gallons Per Minute (GPM), with an operational range typically between 2 to 13 GPM.
Maximum Head (Lift): Up to 200 feet (61 meters).
Voltage Range: Operates on 70–190 VDC (or 90–190 VDC depending on the specific manufacturer/controller configuration).
Motor Type: Brushless / Permanent magnet DC motor designed for reliability.
Minimum Well Size: Fits inside standard 4-inch (100 mm) or wider boreholes.
Discharge Size: 1 1/4" NPT connection.
Current Draw: Max load current around 10 Amps.
How It Works
Helical Rotor (Screw) Design: Instead of high-speed impellers found in standard centrifugal pumps, a helical rotor spins inside a rubber stator to squeeze water upward in a continuous, smooth flow.
Low-Speed Efficiency: Because it is a positive-displacement mechanism, it builds high pressure and can begin pumping water at lower RPMs. This allows the system to start earlier in the morning and run later into the evening under low-insolation sunlight conditions.
Solar Integration: Powered cleanly via photovoltaic panels, often paired with an HR Stop Module or MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) controller to optimize power conversion.
