Refund policy

At Grow It Depot, we work hard to make sure every order is packed, shipped, and delivered correctly. Because many of the products we sell are specialized, seasonal, vendor-fulfilled, or sensitive to handling after delivery, returns are limited and must be approved in advance.

Returns for Items Received in Good Condition

Grow It Depot generally does not accept returns for items that were received in good condition.

If you ordered the wrong item, changed your mind, or the item does not suit your needs, we may approve a return on a case-by-case basis. Approval is not guaranteed.

To be eligible for consideration, the item must be:

  • Unopened
  • Unused
  • In original packaging
  • In resellable condition
  • Approved for return in writing by Grow It Depot

Approved returns for items received in good condition are subject to a 20% restocking fee. Original shipping charges are non-refundable, and return shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility.

Non-Returnable Items

The following items are not eligible for return unless they arrive damaged, defective, or incorrect:

  • Opened or used products
  • Items missing original packaging
  • Sale, clearance, closeout, or final-sale items
  • Special-order items
  • Vendor-direct or dropship items where the vendor does not allow returns
  • Items damaged after delivery due to misuse, improper storage, installation error, weather exposure, or neglect

Damaged or Defective Items

If your item arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, please contact us at support@growitdepot.com as soon as possible.

We may request photos, packaging details, carrier information, or other documentation in order to review the claim. If the claim is approved, Grow It Depot will provide a replacement, store credit, or refund at our discretion.

In most cases, we will replace the damaged or defective item. Refunds are issued only when a replacement is not practical or available.

Return Authorization Required

All returns, refunds, replacements, or exchange requests require prior written authorization from Grow It Depot.

To start a request, email us at support@growitdepot.com with your order number, a description of the issue, and photos if the item arrived damaged or defective.

Requests sent by social media, website chat, phone, voicemail, or mail may not be monitored for return purposes and will not be considered a valid return request.

Items returned without prior authorization or without a return label issued by Grow It Depot will not be eligible for a refund, credit, or replacement.

Refunds (if applicable)

Once an approved return is received and inspected, we will notify you by email whether the refund has been approved or rejected.

If approved, the refund will be issued to the original payment method. Please allow several business days for the refund to appear, depending on your bank or credit card provider.

Shipping charges, return shipping fees, and restocking fees are non-refundable.

Late or Missing Refunds

If your refund has been approved but you have not received it yet, please first check your bank account again. Then contact your credit card company or bank, as processing times can vary.

If you have completed these steps and still have not received your refund, contact us at support@growitdepot.com.

Exchanges

We only replace items if they are defective, damaged, or incorrect.

If you need a replacement for the same item, email support@growitdepot.com with your order number, photos if applicable, and a description of the issue.

Return Shipping

If your return is approved, Grow It Depot will provide return instructions. In some cases, we may issue a return label.

Unless the return is due to an approved damaged, defective, or incorrect item claim, the customer is responsible for return shipping costs.

If you choose to ship an approved return using your own carrier, we recommend using a trackable shipping service and purchasing shipping insurance for items over $75. Grow It Depot is not responsible for returns that are lost, delayed, or damaged in transit.

Return Shipping Deadline

If a return is approved, the customer must ship the item back and provide a valid tracking number within 7 days of return approval.

The tracking number must show carrier movement within that 7-day period. A tracking number that is created but does not show any carrier acceptance, scan, or movement may not be considered valid proof of shipment.

If the customer does not provide a valid tracking number showing movement within 7 days of approval, the return authorization may be canceled and the item may no longer be eligible for refund, credit, or exchange.

Return approvals are issued for a limited time and do not remain open indefinitely.

Unauthorized Returns

Any item shipped back to Grow It Depot or one of our vendors without prior written approval may be refused, discarded, returned to sender, or deemed ineligible for refund.

Grow It Depot is not responsible for unauthorized returns or return shipments sent to the wrong address.

Vendor-Specific Return Rules

Some items sold by Grow It Depot are fulfilled directly by vendors, brands, distributors, or dropshipping partners. These items may be subject to the return rules, warranty process, inspection requirements, restocking fees, or approval policies of the vendor that fulfilled the order.

Grow It Depot reserves the right to follow the applicable vendor’s return policy when reviewing a return, refund, exchange, or replacement request.

If a vendor does not accept returns for a specific item, Grow It Depot may be unable to approve a return unless the item arrived damaged, defective, or incorrect and the claim is approved.

Large, Heavy, Freight, and Special-Order Items

Large, heavy, oversized, palletized, freight-shipped, special-order, custom-order, or vendor-direct items are generally not eligible for return unless they arrive damaged, defective, or incorrect.

If a large or freight-shipped item arrives visibly damaged, please note the damage with the carrier at the time of delivery when possible and contact us immediately at support@growitdepot.com.

Freight and oversized return costs can be substantial. If a return is approved for a large or heavy item that was received in good condition, the customer is responsible for all return shipping, freight charges, handling fees, and any applicable restocking fees.
