Keep a choice of Hormex rooting powder strengths on hand for the plant varieties you grow. This variety pack lets you select an appropriate powder for each cutting rather than mixing different strengths together.

Choose the right strength
#8 · 0.80% IBA: For semi-hardwood cuttings from suitable woody plants.
#16 · 1.60% IBA: For difficult-to-root hardwood cuttings; confirm that your plant requires this strength.

Prepare and dip the cutting
Use clean shears to cut just below a node and remove lower leaves. Moisten the cut base with clean water, dip it in the selected rooting powder and tap off excess. Choose one appropriate strength for the cutting; do not mix strengths together.
Plant and care for the cutting
Plant in a suitable rooting medium that supports the cutting while allowing moisture and airflow around the developing roots. Keep the medium lightly moist, not waterlogged, and provide growing conditions suited to your plant. Rooting time varies with the plant variety, cutting condition and propagation environment.
