Athena IPM is a broad-spectrum insecticide and fungicide concentrate formulated with minimum-risk natural plant oils and citric acid. It works primarily through physical action on pests and fungal surfaces rather than a biochemical pesticide mode of action.

• Product Type: Broad-spectrum insecticide & fungicide concentrate
• Brand: Athena Ag
• Formulation: Liquid concentrate — dilute before application
• Regulatory Status: EPA FIFRA Section 25(b) exempt
• Active Ingredients: 1.5% peppermint oil, 1.5% lemongrass oil, 1.5% geranium oil, 0.05% citric acid
• Primary Targets: Spider mites, aphids, thrips, whiteflies, fungus gnats and powdery mildew
• Mode of Action: Physical smothering, desiccation and deterrence rather than biochemical toxicity
• Prevention Rate: 50–60 mL/gal of water, 2–3 times per week
• Treatment Rate: 90–120 mL/gal; minimum 3 applications spaced 3 days apart
• Root Drench Rate: 5–10 mL/gal
• Application: Thoroughly spray both upper and lower leaf surfaces and stems
• Recommended Timing: Foliar applications with lights off or in early morning
• Growing Stage: Seedling through flowering; commercial operators commonly taper/stop foliar use around weeks 3–4 of flower depending on requirements
• Compatibility: Compatible with fertilizers and additives, including Athena nutrients
• Storage: 45–85°F, sealed in original packaging and protected from direct sunlight
• Shelf Life: 2 years from manufacture date when properly stored
• State Availability: U.S. only; not available in Indiana or Idaho; state-specific label approval should be verified

Key Advantage: Athena IPM provides a multi-target physical mode of action using plant-derived oils, allowing it to address insects and powdery mildew without relying on conventional synthetic pesticides. Because its action is primarily physical rather than biochemical, the manufacturer positions it as suitable for repeated preventative applications without the same resistance mechanism associated with conventional chemical insecticides.
