Drying is where a lot of good harvests lose their smell. Dry too fast and the terpenes leave with the water. Dry too slow and you risk mold. The Flavorwise CH-172A takes that guesswork off your plate: it's a sealed cabinet that holds the temperature and humidity you set for drying, then curing, then storage, so every batch finishes the same way.
You pick a stage or run Full Cycle, which moves through all three on its own. Built-in sensors keep checking the air, and a compressor, humidifier and fans correct it. Horizontal air channels feed the top, middle and bottom racks, so buds on the bottom shelf finish at the same pace as the ones up top. You can watch it all from your phone in the Flavorwise app.
Three stages, one cabinet
| Stage | Temperature | Humidity | Default time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Drying | 60 to 72°F (16 to 22°C) | 52 to 62% RH | 7 days (set 4 to 14) |
| Curing | 60 to 72°F (16 to 22°C) | 55 to 65% RH | 28 days (set 14 to 45) |
| Storage | 59 to 68°F (15 to 20°C) | 55 to 62% RH | Runs until you stop it |
The control panel opens at the popular 60/60 drying setting (60°F, 60% RH). Default times are a starting point, so check the material and adjust as it goes.
How much it holds
The cabinet has 172 L of net space (200 L total) across 10 removable stainless steel shelves. That's roughly 3 to 6 plants, or 8 to 10 lb of wet harvest laid out on the shelves. If you hang whole plants instead, plan on about 6 lb. The manual suggests these starting points:
- Light load: up to 1 kg (2.2 lb) wet, 1 to 2 plants. Start at 5 days and hang whole or half plants.
- Medium load: 1.5 to 2 kg (3.3 to 4.4 lb) wet, 3 to 4 plants. Start at 7 days and hang branches in 2 or 3 layers.
- High load: 2.5 to 4 kg (5.5 to 8.8 lb) wet, 5 to 8 plants. Start at 10 days, lay branches evenly on the shelves and check every 24 hours.
Quiet enough for the house
It runs at about 38 dB and draws 75 W at most, so you can keep it in a closet or a spare room. The carbon air filter at the back handles smell, and a debris tray catches anything that falls from the racks.

Before you plug it in
The cabinet ships heavy, so move it with two people and keep it upright. Let it stand for 24 hours before you power it on, install the air filter, add about 500 ml of water to the tank and run it empty for an hour. During drying the tank fills with water from the plants, so empty it regularly. During curing you'll add a little water instead.
