This bundle contains three organic horseradish root cuttings for planting. Horseradish is a cold-hardy perennial grown for its pungent roots. It spreads from small pieces of root, so choose a permanent location or grow it in a large container where its spread can be managed.

Planting and harvest
Plant in late winter or early spring as soon as the soil can be worked. Water regularly while plants establish. Harvest after cool fall weather begins and before the ground freezes. Dig carefully because root pieces left in the soil can regrow; save healthy side roots for replanting if desired. Older, unharvested roots may become woody.
The organic designation applies to the planting stock in this listing. It does not by itself certify the customer's future growing practices or harvest.
Use gloves and work in a well-ventilated area when preparing fresh horseradish because the cut root releases strong, irritating vapors.

Dormant cutting note: A small amount of surface mold can develop during cold storage and can usually be wiped away. Do not plant cuttings that are soft, mushy, or rotten; contact us promptly if your cuttings arrive in that condition.
